Manor Park Carpet Cleaners Terms and Conditions

Carpet cleaning equipment and service materials for a UK terms and conditions pageThese Terms and Conditions govern the provision of carpet cleaning and related domestic or commercial cleaning services by Manor Park Carpet Cleaners. By making a booking, confirming an appointment, or allowing work to begin, the customer agrees to these terms. They are designed to set out the service relationship clearly, including how bookings are made, how payments are handled, when cancellations apply, what liability is accepted, how waste is managed, and which law applies. For the avoidance of doubt, references to we, us, and our mean Manor Park Carpet Cleaners, while you and your mean the customer or the person authorising the service.

These terms apply to all carpet cleaning services, including standard fibre care, deep cleaning, stain treatment, stain protection, deodorising, rug care, upholstery-related add-ons where offered, and any associated labour or materials supplied as part of the appointment. Any special request, booking note, or verbal instruction will only be binding if accepted by us. If any part of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Professional carpet cleaning appointment and service confirmation conceptWe reserve the right to update these terms from time to time. The version in force at the time your booking is accepted will ordinarily apply to that booking. However, where a legal or safety requirement changes before the service date, we may apply the revised rule if needed to comply with law or to protect people, property, or equipment. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer under applicable UK law.

Booking process begins when you request an appointment and provide accurate information about the property, the type of carpet or flooring, access arrangements, and any known issues such as heavy staining, pet odours, previous treatments, fragility, or water damage. A booking is only confirmed when we accept the request and provide a date, approximate arrival window, or written confirmation. Until confirmation is issued, no service agreement is formed. We may ask for photographs, measurements, or further details before accepting a job, especially where specialist equipment, stain removal methods, or extra time may be required.

When you book a service with Manor Park Carpet Cleaners, you confirm that you have authority to arrange the work for the premises and that someone aged 18 or over will be present, unless we have agreed otherwise. You also confirm that the area is safe for cleaning and that we may reasonably rely on the information you have provided. If the true condition of the carpets differs materially from the information given, we may adjust the price, amend the method, or decline to proceed if the job is unsafe, impractical, or likely to cause damage.

Appointment times are estimates rather than guaranteed arrival moments. We use reasonable efforts to attend within the agreed window, but delays can occur because of traffic, earlier jobs overrunning, weather, access problems, or equipment issues. If we anticipate a significant delay, we will aim to notify you using the details provided at booking. Where access is restricted, parking is unavailable, or entry is delayed, the appointment may be shortened, rescheduled, or charged as a wasted visit if the delay prevents completion.

Payments for carpet cleaning services are due in accordance with the price or quotation confirmed at booking or on completion of the work, depending on the arrangement stated for that appointment. Unless otherwise agreed, prices are quoted as a service charge and may exclude additional items discovered on site, such as extra rooms, deeper soiling, specialist stain treatment, or add-on protective products. Any change to the price will be explained before further work continues wherever reasonably possible.

We may accept payment by bank transfer, card, cash, or another method stated in advance. Payment must be made in full by the time stated on the invoice or at the end of the appointment if payment on completion applies. If a deposit is requested, it secures the booking and may be used to offset cancellation losses where permitted under these terms. Late payment may result in reminder charges, suspension of future bookings, or recovery action for sums outstanding, to the extent permitted by law.

Payment and quotation details for carpet cleaning servicesWhere a quotation is provided, it is based on the information available at the time and may be revised if the property condition, access, or scope of work differs from what was described. Quotations may also exclude items outside the agreed service, such as moving heavy furniture, treatment of pre-existing damage, or remediation following flooding, mould, or fire. If we identify a need for additional work, we will seek approval before proceeding, except where urgent action is required to prevent injury or significant harm.

Cancellations, rescheduling, and missed appointments

You may cancel or reschedule a booking, but reasonable notice is required. If you cancel with sufficient notice before the appointment, no cancellation charge will usually apply unless we have already incurred non-recoverable costs for specialist materials, third-party hire, or a clearly stated deposit arrangement. If you cancel at short notice, fail to provide access, or are not present at the agreed time and location, we may charge for lost time, travel, or preparation costs. This does not affect any rights you may have where we are at fault.

We may cancel, postpone, or rearrange a booking where necessary because of illness, adverse weather, transport disruption, equipment failure, staff shortages, unsafe conditions, or any event beyond our reasonable control. In such cases, we will make reasonable efforts to offer an alternative date or refund any advance payment for work not carried out. We are not responsible for indirect loss caused by a change of date, provided we acted reasonably and in good faith.

If you need to change the scope of work, such as adding extra rooms or removing an area from the appointment, please notify us as early as possible. Any price adjustment or timing change will depend on the new scope and our availability. We may refuse late changes if they cannot be accommodated safely or without affecting other scheduled appointments.

Service standards and customer responsibilities

Responsible waste handling and site safety during carpet cleaningWe will carry out the work with reasonable care and skill using methods and products appropriate to the materials and condition described or observed on site. However, carpet cleaning results depend on fibre type, age, wear, prior treatment, and the nature of any staining. Some marks may be permanent or only partially removable. We do not guarantee complete removal of all stains, odours, or discolouration, particularly where damage is old, embedded, or caused by unknown substances.

You are responsible for moving fragile, valuable, or personal items before the appointment unless we have expressly agreed to assist. Where furniture moving is included, it normally relates only to light or reasonably movable items. We may decline to move items that are heavy, unstable, wired, fixed, or likely to cause damage. You should also protect or disconnect electronics, remove loose possessions, and identify any hazards such as exposed nails, broken fittings, loose floorboards, or concealed damage.

Any pre-existing damage must be disclosed before cleaning begins. This includes frayed edges, torn seams, colour loss, previous repairs, water marks, hidden staining, weakened backing, or problems caused by pets, damp, or infestation. If such issues are not disclosed, we may not be liable for resulting deterioration where the damage was already present or was reasonably unforeseeable at the start of the job.

Liability and limitations

We accept responsibility for direct loss or damage caused by our negligence, subject to the exclusions and limits in these terms and any rights you have under law. We will not be liable for indirect, consequential, or purely economic losses, including loss of profit, loss of business, or inconvenience, except where such limitation is not permitted by law. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded.

Where damage occurs, our liability may be limited to the cost of reasonable repair, cleaning rectification, or replacement of the affected area, taking account of age, condition, and fair wear and tear. We are not responsible for damage caused by defective materials, pre-existing weakness, hidden defects, poor installation, unsuitable previous treatments, or the natural behaviour of fibres when exposed to water, heat, pressure, or cleaning chemicals. Certain carpets and fabrics may react unpredictably even where suitable methods are used.

If you believe damage has occurred, you must notify us as soon as reasonably possible and, where safe to do so, allow us the opportunity to inspect the issue before any repair or replacement work is undertaken. Failure to do so may affect our ability to verify the cause or extent of the problem. We may request photographs, invoices, or other evidence to help assess any claim.

Clients should be aware that carpet cleaning can expose pre-existing imperfections, such as stains previously concealed by soil, colour variation, pile distortion, or wear lines. These are not usually treated as damage caused by the service. In addition, areas treated for heavy soiling may dry with a slight difference in appearance because the cleaning process can lift dirt unevenly from old or worn fibres. This is a normal risk of professional cleaning and not, by itself, evidence of negligence.

Governing law and legal terms for carpet cleaning services in England and WalesWe are not responsible for items left on the carpet, hidden under furniture, or stored in cupboards or other spaces unless we have expressly accepted responsibility for them. Small items should be removed in advance. Any instruction to leave items in place is taken at your risk where it prevents proper cleaning or creates the possibility of contact with moisture or chemicals. If we discover hazardous materials, bodily fluids, mould growth, or contamination that makes the work unsafe, we may suspend the appointment until the issue is addressed.

Waste regulations and disposal

We operate in accordance with applicable UK waste handling obligations, including requirements relating to disposal of contaminated water, used consumables, packaging, and any waste generated by the service. Waste will be managed responsibly and, where necessary, transferred only to appropriate facilities or handled by authorised carriers where the law requires. You must not ask us to dispose of household waste, hazardous substances, or prohibited materials unless we have explicitly agreed and are legally permitted to do so.

We may separate, contain, and remove limited cleaning waste associated with the job, such as used cloths, dirt residue, and small amounts of extracted debris, but only within the scope of the service and subject to safe handling. If the property contains hazardous waste, sharps, infestation-related waste, chemicals, or other regulated material, you are responsible for arranging lawful disposal unless we have given prior written agreement to handle it. We may refuse to continue if conditions breach waste or safety requirements.

All waste-related practices must comply with environmental and public health obligations. You agree not to conceal hazardous conditions before work begins and to inform us of any known contamination. If we are required to stop work because of unsafe or unlawful waste conditions, the appointment may still be charged for time spent, travel, or preparatory work. Any additional disposal expense arising from undisclosed waste may be passed on to you where permitted by law.

Data, property access, and conduct Although these terms are primarily about service delivery, you agree to provide reasonable access to the premises and to ensure that persons, pets, and valuables are managed so the cleaning can be carried out safely. We will treat any personal information supplied for booking and service administration in accordance with applicable data protection law. We will only use such information for legitimate operational, accounting, safety, or compliance purposes.

We may suspend or end a service immediately if your conduct, the condition of the premises, or any instruction given would expose us to unacceptable risk, unlawful activity, or serious delay. In such circumstances, you may remain responsible for payment for work already completed and for any non-recoverable costs reasonably incurred. We may also refuse future appointments where repeated cancellations, non-payment, or unsafe conditions occur.

These terms are intended to be fair and transparent. If any provision is found to be unreasonable or unenforceable, it will be interpreted in a way that most closely reflects the original intention, to the extent allowed by law. No waiver of any term will be effective unless confirmed by us in writing or through a clearly communicated acceptance of a variation for a specific booking.

Governing law These terms and any dispute or claim arising from them, whether contractual or non-contractual, shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction, except where the law requires otherwise. By booking a service with Manor Park Carpet Cleaners, you agree that this legal framework applies to all matters arising from the service relationship.
